Ok, to edit something, from the www.livejournal.com page, there's "Manage" on the menu. Under Manage, choose "Entries" and you can pick which entry to edit.

Also, for long stories, you can put them behind a cut by typing < lj-cut > without all the spaces. And then you can end it with < / ljcut > again, without any spaces in there. If you include lj-cut text="something here" inside the brackets, the link will say something here instead of just Read more....

Similarly you can do bold, italic, and underline by doing < b > and < / b > to precede and end what you want bold. b for bold, i for italic, u for underline. There's a couple other things you can do if you look at the LJ FAQs and Help.
