She's doing really well. Her school had their annual Fifth Commandment Tea last week, and she said she knew she was like her dad because they had the same blood type. My little scientist. :)
I'm thrilled to pieces. I know that the next 32 pounds are going to be harder because I'm losing a greater percentage of my body weight, but I also feel that, with such a smaller goal ahead, I can nickel and dime my way up to it and take another 8 months, or longer, to get where I want. So, yeah, still excited. :)
The eating plan I "invented" is actually very much like Weight Watchers (although I didn't know that when I came up with it), and it's working well too, so...yeah.
Honestly, any way of eating that says you can never have your favorite foods again is probably doomed from the start - at least in my universe. :)
Your plan is, I think, even more like WW under the new points system. Now fruits have no points, either, so the basic idea is that you eat as much fruit and veg as you want, then try to eat lean proteins, whole grains, and healthy oils. Shocking! I'm glad your plan is working, and go you for being able to do it on your own.
One of the big things WW emphasizes is to not deprive yourself. One of my really, really important rituals was to have my coffee and a pastry three days a week after dropping Boo off at school. The first thing I did on WW was calculate how many of my bonus points I'd have to use to keep doing that, or if I'd have to cut it back to two days or one day, and once I knew I could (with points to spare) I said, "Okay, rock on." :)
