Ah yes, Fall, when signup sheets for my coworker's children's school fundraisers appear in the break room like so many leaves on the cool, damp ground.

It seems like I remember actually going door to door when I was a kid if I wanted to sell candy or magazines to my neighbors.

yes, us pounding the pavement, and then there were the clever kids who pushed magazine subscriptions at the doctor's offices and won the grand prize

i hate it when people try to shake me down when it's time for their kids' fundraisers. i think better fundraising activities are when the kids actually work to perform a service (ie carwash, etc) rather than sell junk food or useless crap out of a catalog.
