Voting Time!

Voting rules:
1. Do not vote for yourself, and do not ask others to vote for you.
2. If you participated in the challenge this month, then you are required to vote! If you do not have an LJ account, please comment with your vote so that it will be counted! Failure to vote will result in me not counting the votes for your drabble.
3. Vote for one MOST, SECOND, and THIRD favourite drabble. Votes for multiple drabbles in any category, or failure to fill out a vote for all three will result in a disqualified vote.
4. Please vote for the NUMBER, not the title, of each drabble. (Voting for a drabble by title AND number is acceptable; voting for the title only is not and I WILL NOT count votes that are done by title only.)
5. Remember the prompt for this month while voting- thankfulness.
6. Voting closes 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday, November 25th.
Results will be posted over the weekend!

“D’you know that, in America, today’s called Thanksgiving?” said Draco. He was reading the Daily Prophet.
Hermione looked up from her notes. Since the war, he’d been making an effort to be friendly, and - although she was busy, studying for a test - she didn’t want to discourage him: “Didn’t realise it was today.”
“What’re you thankful for, Granger?” He folded the newspaper.
“Oh... Lots of things. Harry and Ron. My parents. Peace.” She smiled. “Peace most of all. What about you?”
“Mother and Father surviving the war,” said Draco. “And...”
His eyes met hers, and Hermione’s heart skipped a beat.

“In conclusion, we need earlier intervention for Muggleborns: to introduce them to Magic, to give them a cultural headstart, to ensure their proper care, and to minimize incidents with the Statute of Secrecy. Please vote ‘yes.’”
Draco stepped down from the platform and resumed his seat within the Wizengamot. Hermione was very relieved; the purebloods had less to complain about with one of their own supporting this legislation.
She was nervous as the tallies went up, but it was easy to see a satisfactory ‘yes’ to the voting.
She looked over at Draco and gave him a small, thankful smile.

Draco is thankful.
He walks among the people and the bodies, and he knows how it could have been. A strange surge of joy is beginning to build within him. He’s no longer trapped; for the first time in his life, he can be who he really is.
He sees her across the hall. Her brown hair is curling onto her smoke-smudged face. A freckled arm is around her shoulder, and that’s okay-for now. Draco has time to make things right, to act on the things that he’s tried to bury inside him.
The world is filled with possibilities.

Eye downcast, shuffling from one foot to the other, he wasn’t sure where to begin. Would ‘thanks’ be appropriate, or would ‘sorry’ be a better starting point? Would she even accept such words, or would it be the smarter thing to walk on and pretend he’d never stopped?
Watching her lean over the newly repaired ramparts, as alone as him this do-over year, Draco felt that familiar hitch in his chest.
Maybe she’d been ‘untouchable’ before, but not now.
True, he’d never been a kind boy, especially to her…but maybe he could be a better man.
