Voting Time!
Mod Note: It can be difficult for a participating author to vote when we have only a few drabbles submitted. In light of that, I am amending Voting Rule #2, below: If four (4) or fewer drabbles are submitted, authors are NOT required to vote, though they are welcome to do so if they choose.
Voting rules:
1. Do not vote for yourself, and do not ask others to vote for you.
2. (please see amended rule, above) If you participated in the challenge this month, then you are required to vote! If you do not have an LJ account, please comment with your vote so that it will be counted! Failure to vote will result in me not counting the votes for your drabble.
3. Vote for one MOST, SECOND, and THIRD favourite drabble. Votes for multiple drabbles in any category, or failure to fill out a vote for all three will result in a disqualified vote.
4. Please vote for the NUMBER, not the title, of each drabble. (Voting for a drabble by title AND number is acceptable; voting for the title only is not and I WILL NOT count votes that are done by title only.)
5. Remember the prompt for this month while voting- unexpected.
6. Voting closes 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Tuesday, June 21st.
Results will be posted at the weekend!

“I appreciate the gesture, Draco, but you didn’t need to escort me to my door.” Hermione dug in her extended clutch for her wand. “It is rather archaic.”
“My mother raised a gentleman. Would you prefer I had tarnished my upbringing by letting you leave the banquet alone?”
Noting her struggle, Draco tapped the rim of her bag with his own wand, bringing hers darting out to his hand. As Hermione took a step forward to retrieve it, Draco leaned in for a swift peck on her cheek.
“Well that was… Unexpected,” she mused, blushing furiously.
He grinned. “G’night, Hermione.”

He picked himself up slowly from the mud and scraped off as best as he could knowing it was better to get it off now than wait for it to dry up.
A hand was thrust in front of his face and he grabbed it.
“Scourgify”
Draco looked up into warm brown eyes. He tensed and realized he was still holding her hand.
He let go.
“Thank you”, he said in a clear voice. He turned to leave but Granger held him back with a touch.
“Have coffee with me.”
He could pretend to mishear but found himself nodding instead.

Curious, Hermione opened the door.
Why’ve you appeared to me now, she asked the Room of Requirement, on a routine patrol of the corridors? What d’you think I require?
Inside, the Room reminded her of Malfoy Manor, but was colder, darker, and far more terrifying than the place where she’d been tortured. Cautiously, she inched forward and, to her astonishment, as she moved, she seemed to leave a trail - candles burst into light, vases of flowers uncurled and re-bloomed-
She stopped abruptly.
At the heart of the darkness, sat Draco Malfoy.
“Granger,” he whispered, “help me find the way out.”

“That was unexpected.”
“You don't say.” Hermione was unimpressed.
Draco defended himself. “How could I know they fixed the Anti-Apparition wards?”
“Common sense is truly an under-appreciated commodity.”
“On the bright side, by dinner time Weasley will know you're over him.”
“Being caught out by the Hogwarts Parent Teacher Association touring the greenhouses was not how I intended him to find out.” Hermione sniffled.
“S'all right,” he reassured her. “By the time we get married even Mrs Weasley will laugh.”
“We're not getting married!”
Draco decided to save the ring for later.
