Even though we knew the presents were coming from Draco, and that they were clearly symbolic, you managed to build up the suspense -- what did they symbolise, and how did he know so much about her? Was he a stalker? Hermione didn't seem frightened. But why was her response so... well, ungrateful? And then you tied it up brilliantly at the end, with some twisty-turny banter that still kept us waiting, until the very last line!

Oh, you caught the bit of potential darkness? Yes, I know it came across a touch stalkerish and that was the intention. And yes, her response was a touch ungrateful, at first blush....and actually, the first draft went to far in that area and then after I lost this, I re-wrote it and like it so much better.

It's wonderful to see such a tender portrayal of them, since we so often concentrate on the angstier parts of the possibilities between them (which, I must confess, I prefer over fluff any day) but this just blew me out of the water. It was witty and thought-out (on his part) and just perfect, I think. Very well done, mystery author! <3
