As little children, we are taught to dream big dreams, follow those dreams, and never settle for less. We're saturated with stories and fairy tales where good overcomes, patience is rewarded, and beautiful young people find and marry that one perfect match. Then life would be either really funny, or fairly pointless, or both.

Hrm. I wrote a post like this a few years ago, but I'm too lazy to look it up. Mostly just wanted to say hi, and I think I understand what you're going through.

No matter what exists or is up their watching out for us, or just watching us: our lives and our happiness are our own responsibility. always.

I want to say lots of hippy sounding things, and talk about active waiting -- being open to what's out there, taking the small opportunities to make and find adventures and seeing where they lead.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather be lonely than settle for something less than what I know I really want.
