To rather be mistreated in a relationship appeals more than being lonely to most for some strange reason, though I agree with what Plato remarked upon feelings of affection: "love is a serious mental disease." Though the companionship of another human being is a great thing, as I can tell you see it isn't always a great thing.
I don't know why but this was somewhat refreshing to read, you go about this in such a... 'logical' or 'reasonable' way... you'll have to excuse me, the appropriate word seems to be eluding me at the moment.
I guess the important thing in these kinds of situations is to realise that at any moment you can leave your old self and make things anew... I don't know if that makes sense, it did in my head. I guess what I'm trying to say is "you can do it," I don't know you or this person whom you're reffering to, but if it's someone who would just replace you, they're not worth it, you seem like a pretty jive cat and you're by no means unattractive, so you can do better.
