Yeah, my boyfriend's cousin has a pit bull with bad knees. We went to visit shortly after one of the surgeries, and it was hell to keep her from a) jumping or running b) pulling the stitches out or getting out of her lampshade and c) going crazy, since she was in pain and not allowed to do anything. Poor dog.

Can you do a lot of lying down tug of war/slapping-the-head games? My parents' old Cairn terrier could have fun for up to ten minutes at a stretch without racing around with those, in her youth. Also, interesting chew toys.
