Well, today started out like it was going to be a pretty ugly day. I woke up with a massive headache, then Kathy said that she wasn't feeling well and wouldn't be going in to work. Okay, I can deal with that. Took too long in the shower, so I was starting to run late. Cruised close to 90 on 465 and managed to get here on time and with a few minutes

Consider it an uber-bonus that you got the award even though you're *gasp* Just a Temp.

Ugh. Sooo tired of temping. I've been temping at the same job for 7 months, and they show no signs of wanting to make the position permanent, despite the fact that it looks like I'll be here at least as long again. *sigh* Ah well.. savin' money, savin' money.

Temping is gonna look golden to employers for a long long time now for two reasons.

Health care.
Pensions (though this is diminishing as big companies start defaulting on their defined benefit plans).

I wish you two the best of luck, but am sadly aware that you'll need it all and more. :(

I know what you mean. I feel really lucky that I'm going to be able to get hired in permanent with this company. They have really nice health care plans, pensions and even a yearly bonus that's paid to employees. Hell, they'll even pay for continuing education. :)

All that on top of a really decent paycheck and what has got to be the most appreciative place I've ever worked at will make for one happy employee! :)
