I thought due to my current illness I'd be more sympathetic towards a sick!Sue but this one just made me question everything...and the name kept me in mind of Liberty Belle, which annoyed me. Pretty names instead of

okay so this fic doesn't seem as bad as they usually come - at least the author had the decency not to make Mello all angsty and lovesick when he was looking at the sue's grave. kudos to the author for that, i guess.

wth is up with this new kill-your-beloved-sue-off-at-the-end trend, though? i swear there's been an increase in fics with this ending lately. not that i should mind, since this way the death note continuum will be rid of the sues without having to call in the PPC or other trained sue-assassins. still, it's annoying, because as a reader you are forced into at least trying to feel some modicum of empathy for the sue ("she may be annoyingly perfect, but come on, the poor girl DIED"), when all you really want to do is smack her to the next galaxy. grr.
