Housekeeper/cook

May 25, 2014 23:48

I'm thinking of getting a part time housekeeper maybe from 3-8pm and was hoping they could make dinner too. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to pay the person. Just hourly? Who pays for the food costs?
Would love any advice. Thanks!

Used to know people who did this when I was working. You pay for the food. You can make a grocery list and have her buy groceries and make the meals.

I think you would pay hourly but I don't know how much. Maybe look on Craigslist?

My friends with a nanny/housekeeper/cook always pay for the groceries. Sometimes the hk shops but with their money. I think that is pretty standard unless you are paying just for the cooking services, in which case the cost of the food might be included in the fee. Met someone at the dog park who was a personal chef for some families and would prepare much of the food in her home, like a small scale catering biz. I have stayed with my friends with nanny/hk/cook several times on vacation and it is DREAMY to have someone else cook. Seriously dreamy! I hope it works out for you. I think you could pay hourly/weekly, whatever as long as you are clear on what you want her to do and in what timeframe.
