[It has been months and months since B has opened his eyes. He thinks he may have forgotten how to do so.

The floor is cold against his cheek, and the air is musty; he can almost taste it. His fingers are scrabbling against the floor with too long nails, and the floor creaks in protest, a sharp noise to ears that have not heard in far too long.]

*Mel sometimes has trouble telling new Bs and Ls apart, depending on variations in the Bs' skill at mimicry. There's no doubt with this one. She goes over and kneels beside him, at a safe distance. She may be more predisposed than most to like versions of him, but he's an unknown quantity and she's no fool.*

[B's eyes are wide when he opens them, and he stares up at Mel, hesitates, then shakes his head.]

I -- don't know.
They're still gone, right?

If they are, then no. I am not all right.

Who are 'they'?

*She thinks he must mean people from wherever he came from.*

You've come somewhere new, not them.

[ooc: Oh, I forgot about the eyes, d'oh! Mel's dead.]

[He hesitates again, then heaves a deep breath.]

[Along came a Misa in search of entertainment, and here in this hallway she gladly found that which she sought.]

My, my. Whatever happened to you?

[His voice is bitter.]

[He shakes his head.]

You would not understand.

Matt kneels next to B, looking concerned. He doesn't recognize the man as familar aside from being a version of B.
"Just try to calm down..."

[B remembers having a Matt. Not his Matt, but one he'd spoken with a few times, one he could have grown close to, had the chance arisen. He is not sure if this is that Matt, however; his memory is fuzzy and his mind is not entirely with him.]

I can't -- calm down.
They're gone, and I'm still here.

This Matt looks rather like other Matts, save for the T-rex tooth necklace around his neck, but mun believes your B wasn't there after he got it. So they'll have to talk before they can recognise each other.

"Ah..."
Another one of those, eh? He's not sure how to deal with that, since Mel took his normal methods badly.
"It won't do you any good to panic, though. Try to calm down; they might come back to you still."

[B almost grins when Matt says this, a cynical thought.]

No, no...
They are gone. One of them has been gone for a long time.

The other -- well, I assume he would be with me now if he was still here. Which, clearly, he is not.

[His voice is a bit more stable but still very much on edge; he attempts sitting up, fails, and heaves a deep sigh, groaning as his stomach flips uneasily inside him.]

[Misa's voice is familiar to B. When he'd been in the Mansion before, he had a Misa friend, one that was relatively close, so when he hears her speak his head lifts immediately.]

[However, he remembers where he is; he cannot be sure if this was the girl he knew from before.]

::her eyes widen and she rushes to him, kneeling and gently placing a hand on his back::
Oh my God, Beyond- it's been so long! Have you been here or did you just arrive?

[Something in her touch and the way she says his name lets him know that, yes, this is his Misa.]

I...don't know. I woke up.
I don't even know how long I had been asleep.
