[Passing by, after finally finding that freaking Library he had been hunting for months, Mello sees someone. Red hair. Matt. However, he looked a bit different from usual. Since the blond was trying to find Matt from his own universe, Mello approached, until he finally noticed that this Matt was definitively NOT from his universe.]

[A woman. RIGHT. Well, there was that Mello chick, so this didn't surprise him]

[She gave the blond the once-over, getting to her feet with one hand on the wall.]

Wow, you haven't called me that in a long time. [Not since they were kids, really.] What's going on? And where'd the plane go? [That's what she was worrying over the most. Was this one of the Kira tricks he'd warned her about?]

What am I supposed to call you? [Matty? Mattie? Mail? Apparently it was common for Mello's to be with Matts for some reason]

I'm not the Mello you know.

Fft. [She just gave him a look, leaning against the wall - which was also textured, she was surprised to discover.] I only know one Mello, twit. [She didn't feel too inclined to answer his other question, since he should've already known it.]

Oh look a new arrival! Matt smiles a little at his girl self, he didn't think this was weird at all anymore he's seen girl versions of himself before.

[Wow, this was a mindfuck. Standing in a hurry, Mattie stared, eyes wide, at the man who looked... surprisingly like her.]

Uh. Hi. [She seriously hoped she hadn't been drugged, though that would certainly have explained the lack of memories.]

He pulled the goggles from his eyes and rested them on top of his head.
"You just arrived here huh?"

[She did the same, to get a better look at him. Her nose wrinkled as she looked him over closely.]

I... guess so? [She was seriously confused.] First. Mind telling me who you are?

I, uh. [Rising to her feet, Mattie pressed her back against the wall, watching the strange blond girl.] I don't really remember getting off the plane... [That was what bothered her the most, really.]

My name is Misa. I'm sorry to tell you this, but you're definitely not where you used to be. This place is called The Mansion and it brings in people from all different universes. Sort of like a hotel between universes. There are doubles of people here and I've actually met quite a few of your doubles. Do you go by Matt or something different?

[She just looked annoyed at the concern. Mattie wasn't one who was comfortable receiving pity, but if it got her what she needed, she wouldn't discount it.

The idea of a mansion full of doubles was a little far-fetched, but so were the rumors she'd heard about how Kira killed people from afar the way he - or she - did. Anything was possible, she had to keep reminding herself.] Oh. Well then. I'm Mattie.

[Mello's been keeping himself to himself, lately, spending time in the garden the Matt from his world began, collecting supplies in case the siafu appear here, a threat he has been assured is baseless, but one he cannot discount, even after several months in the mansion of crazy.

He hasn't seen a girl version of Matt in quite some time, and there is only one he knows. They did not part on the best of terms, and so he is uncharacteristically hesitant when he asks:] Tilda?

[She blinked, standing to meet Mello as he came closer.] 'fraid not, bud. [Smiling a little, she couldn't help the slight flush spreading across her cheeks at his hesitation; had she really grown that much, that he wouldn't recognize her?]

Oh. My apologies, miss. I thought you were somebody else.

[He would walk away, except that she is clearly a new arrival who might need some assistance, and he is, after all, chivalrous, or likes to think himself so.]

[He looked like the Mello she knew, but he sure didn't sound like him - and his clothes were different from what she'd expected to find Mello wearing. Mafia guys had to be intimidating, after all, and if she knew her old friend like she thought, he'd be decked out in the finest, most intimidating outfit he could find in LA - which meant leather.
