epiphany! satan doesnt exist!

this is NOT academic and there have been no research whatsoever.

our world in its entirety is a dichotomy of dualities:
we have light & darkness, heat & cold, life & death... good and evil

there has been philosophies that these opposing elements are in fact not of equal standing and instead:
darkness is the absence of light as darkness cannot be ( Read more... )

"Satan was cast out of heaven and away from the goodness of God
by virtue of being in total absence from good, he defaults to total evil

we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God, or as sinners, we cannot be in the presence of God
by virtue of being absent from good, we default to evil"

this theology is grounded on many assumptions. it takes many liberties on the interpretation of Scripture.

your definition of evil as the absence of good is also flawed. you used the analogy of light and heat, but i would argue that that is a bad comparison. there are people who do evil things not because of the absence of good, but because they do have evil intentions.

evil exists, unlike darkness which is the absence of something.

oh my dear, this whole writeup is based on assumptions.

i do know that what you term as 'evil intention' does exist. i'm not living in such a farflung world as to believe otherwise. all im asking is that you put aside your preconceived notions and think about whether

the term 'evil intention' can be similarly construed as 'having very little good intention'?

the basis of all my assumptions is that only one of these 'dualities' have an identity, and likewise, everything can be explained from the side of the main element, i.e. light, heat, and good.

the absence of good would be doing things without consideration of outcome. however, evil, to me, is the intention to cause / inflict harm and pain onto others.

you know what miak, you're right

i cannot figure out how deliberate 'evil intention' has anything in common with the inert states of cold and darkness. it could be either they are wrong elements for comparison or theres something i havent gotten quite right.

however, i maintain that evil cannot be created.

i shall now have to reexamine my assumptions.

and im certainly climbing up a steep slope arguing a whole existence of the philosophy and psychology of good and evil :P
