Blind dates are horrible. May I ask why you were made to go on so many?

My mother wants me married; she'd very keen about reminding me that my biological clock is ticking away. She wants grandchildren of her own blood, not just step-grandchildren. She's got a much better chance with Xenia than with me, but I think she wants one for my father. He died when I was thirteen.
