Unless it sounded like it was having a hard time making that whum whum whum sound, and the whum whum whum was slowing down, it doesn't really sound like the battery. More likely would be a sensor going bad or a fuel delivery problem. But, I'm not a professional and wouldn't guarantee it isn't just the battery.

Actually, that's exactly what it sounded like. It was having a hard time making the sound and it slowed.
