So since England fell through, Lance and I are planning on going to Portland for a while. We're toying with the idea of taking the train at least part of the way up, and then flying back (Yay JetBlue! Portland direct to LB ( Read more... )

I don't know which option you should take, but you know JetBlue flies LGB to Boston direct, right? Book now for cheep tix!

The fare sale right now is only for travel through June 17. Sad.

They're totally selling for August now. Depending on when you go there and how long you stay, looks like JetBlue can get you a direct flight for significantly cheaper than most other airlines with stops. Although you could get cheaper out of LAX. You'd have to fly out of LAX then, which has a killer suck factor.

Well, yeah, they're *selling* for August, but at $188 each way each person instead of $99, which is the fare sale price.

I trust they'll have a summer fare sale. Almost $800 in tickets (with tax)is a bit prohibitive.

Oh, and, I hear train travel kinda sucks these days, unless your whole point *is* taking the train. I dunno, I took the Amtrak once to Santa Barbara, and it was kind of lame. Like being on a bus, but with fewer stops.

Eurostar wasn't so bad, I think we had one two-hour trip and one three-hour trip and it was definitely nicer than either the bus or a plane for the same amount of time. Even though the train was crowded, it was a little less claustrophobic than a plane and way nicer than the bus.
