[Standing in the doorway is a fellow troop leader here. Just how much has he missed?]

I don't think there is. If you find out, let me know. This job pisses me off too.

( oh. hey there housemate. )

I don't suppose we could just...stop showing up.

I've tried that already. They brainwash you if you don't show up.

Ok. So ditching isn't an option.

I guess we can't turn the drone kids into minion armies, either.

What's wrong with volunteer work?

Nothing, when you're doing on purpose.

You got drafted?

Well...basically. Except I think I'd be better at going to war than this.

[Hera appears from the kitchen, frowning.]

If there was a way, I would have switched mine the moment I was informed.

Is there, ah, something wrong with your job, too?

They've made me a nurse. [IT COULD BE WORSE, and honestly she's good at the whole nursing thing (It comes with being a 'mother') but...]

[A drone scout troop hell bent on helping out? Yes, she'll have some of that. Theta is dutifully terrified of the snow and ice--she leans heavily on a cane as she makes her way very, very carefully around town. She's trying to enjoy her walk, but when it comes time to cross a street, she has to pass a little bit of built up snow and ice. She eyes it cautiously, then sighs and turns around to go home, beaten by the inclimate weather. This would be much easier if she had her clanks from home!]

( spying someone who needs help, one of the drone boys races towards her and extends on hand dutifully. )

Allow us to help you across the street, Ma'am!

( Jason is standing behind him with the rest of the group, smiling apologetically. )

[Theta twitches with anger when she's called ma'am, but there's no denying that it's a drone speaking up, so she tries to ignore it. And they can be awfully helpful. She nods and puts her hand out for him to take, though she looks over at the troop leader, wondering if any of them are not droned as a point of curiosity.]

Thank you, that's very kind.

( Jason lets the drone kid help out, but walks up to be on the other side. )

Thanks for not pushing him away, or anything. They're awfully insistent about merit badges.
