finished this for class yesterday, the assignment was to make an instructional poster about how to do something and i really let the idea run away from me because i was all like YEAHHHH, HUMAN EVOLUTION, and then my teacher was like you should make it obvious who its written for! and then i was like YEAHHHHH, MEDIEVAL SHIT, and its a self-indulgent mess but i love it, i love how scary and janky it is and i love the precious baby coelacanth angels and her creepy gross medieval stomach, but my class didnt really like it. which is fine, its cool, but i was confused because this is one if the few pieces ive been like AHAHAHA SOOO HAPPY WITH that im just ... confused. i might change it a bit to their suggestions (they mainly didnt like her stomach and how she was painted compared to the rest of it). i guess i feel really guilty saying this but i dont really want crit on it right now i just kind of want to sit with it and think about it for a while because ive kind of accepted that it turned into my weird creepy baby with its own creepy little world i got obsessed with, thats totally divorced from the assignment i was going for. which i shouldnt do again but ill tell myself its ok to slip up once
this is something i did a loooooong time ago last semester, like september or october. it was an assignment on circus freaks and i never posted it because it was a 2-part assignment and i HAAAAATED the second part its the ugliest goddamn thing. but i still kind of like this one
