I might be giving my notice of resignation at the AHA tomorrow. It all depends on how my meeting goes in the morning. If things don't change I'm out the door. I will not work in this type of atmosphere.
I must have been naive to think that office politics wouldn't be as pronounced in a non-profit organization...but unfortunately I was wrong. Total suckage going on.
(Of course there's office politics... there's no escaping it unless you're self-employed. And I've always guessed that there would actually be more office politics at a non-profit.)
and whatever you do... wait till you have another job lined up before quitting your current job. You've been through a lot of stress with the move and new job and everything else. Don't make any decisions about it right now. Resolve to give it at least another month. You can handle (almost) anything for a month while you figure out your next move. Perhaps we should meet after work for a cocktail.
I'm off at 6 tomorrow if you want to have a drink or chat.
hey mister...sounds like a plan. I'm leaving work a little bit early today but I'd love to get together tonight once you get off work. I can make it back downtown about 6-ish :-) Where are you thinking?
Update: I had a meeting with the three Sr. Directors and the other assistant administrator and cleared the air about a few things. They've agreed to some changes and I've agreed to some changes so I'm going to stick around to see if this works out...
Hey - I never got this in my email! I didn't see it until this morning when I was checking LJ! I'm so bummed! I could have totally used a drink after work yesterday.
Next time we decide on something like this, let's make sure to use our cell phones! I don't always get LJ replies via email, for some reason.
This is why you're a genius...and I do have your cell phone number. I don't think ernestinewalker or I have drunk-dialed you recently, but don't think you're safe. hehe No, I promise next time I call it'll be so we can go out sometime after work. Do you want to try sometime this week? I've lived here a month and haven't seen you yet! Plus, I need a reading...I think you said a bottle of Absolut (what kind?) would be good payment...
