Graduation

On Friday, I attended my youngest brother's high school graduation.

This wasn't so bad in and of itself.  I didn't mind that they kept almost all the lights off until the hat-throwing bit.  Or the trite little class valedictorian and salutatorian speeches that sounded almost exactly like every speech given in an eighties college movie.  It was ( Read more... )

personal, wtf

"Oh sure, that enticing lure of $8.50 an hour is hard to pass up, but I think I've made an impression that he probably doesn't want to do that for the rest of his life."

Hey, he's making more than me, so I won't begrudge him. He's doing exactly what I'm STILL doing now and I'm five years older than him. How sad am I?

I won't be attending my brother's graduation. My vacation starts the same week and like hell is my job going to give me that day off too! He doesn't care that I'm not going so it's okay.

Well, $8.50 is kinda the maxed out rate. I think he starts at $7.75 or $8 flat. Brother #1 (the eldest after me) has been working there for about two or three years now... for that $8.50. It's not bad money, but not really something he can live off of.

Meh, brothers #1 and #2 didn't attend my high school graduation either. Albeit largely because it was a large graduating class and due to limited seating they couldn't bring their girlfriends.

I prefer to believe that fate is immutable and destiny cannot be changed! They were destined to be cut like so much chaff from the harvest!

Yeah, but will they be talking about pubic hair in front of the five year-olds? That's when the class-o-meter really starts to sizzle!

I didn't go to my reunion last summer, and I ran into a friend recently who said it was pretty much just like high school. The same people who thought they were cool back then still think so now. I'm just glad I didn't waste money on the tickets! XD

Sympathies for having to deal with family, man.
