The New Look

Jul 01, 2007 01:04

When asked what, exactly, I had been up to on my oh-so envious week off work, I was a little strapped for comments.

Oh sure, I'd spent a great deal of time with Little Dude, specifically the transforming and untransforming of an airplane to robot and vice versa (Jetfire for those in the geeky know).  I'd also been hunting for a new leg for Optimus ( Read more... )

What? The Hulk holding the bunny rabbit doesn't offset it?!

"There are also more hot chicks on it."

Well, you are a man. I'd be worried if there weren't any. You've got to see the weird hodgepodge of crap on my walls.

The Transformers were a nice touch, battle worn as they are. That mouse reminds me of those covers to those Redwall novels for some reason.

"The Coffee Boy From Hell." There's a story here, I can SMELL it! XD

LOL, well, in all honesty I constantly think I need to work on my capability to draw the female anatomy correctly. Hence the figure guides, the photocopied fashion-design book off-photo and the pin-ups. But I also have a couple of beautifully done NaruSasu pics on the wall... they're both all emo and angsty and thankfully not overboard with the yaoi subtext.

It's actually from a graphic novel series called Guard Mouse. It's incredibly well-done and has just been collected into a graphic novel if you're interested. I picked it up as it came out and it's awesome. Then again, I've never read Redwall, so it could be very derivative.

"The Coffee Boy From Hell."

Yes. There is. ^_^

Makes me wonder if Kishimoto does the same thing, lol. No offense to him meant of course. ;)

The gloves come off and the hair falls down... XD I actually dislike NaruSasu doushinji intensely. Mostly because Naruto is usually drawn SO badly. In my mind he is VERY male (one of the most male manga/anime heroes out there I think) so to effeminate him the way these artists tend to do is degrading IMO.

I've never read Redwall either. I have seen a lot of the covers of them though.

I can't and won't argue that. Normally I don't care for it. However, and I've lost the link to this group, this circle while they bishounen-ed Naruto up a bit (he has much cooler hair ;D ), he's still pretty much the kid we follow in the manga (pre-skip). Well, about half of their pictures are. The other half I don't care for. It's all about picking from what you like and discarding the rest.

Though to be fair, you don't get much more removed from manly than having the character on their knees sobbing when their best friend/rival leaves after not killing them. Thanks, Kishimoto!
