Helping in my own way

*Katie wanders into the botany lab and settles restlessly at a desk; her eyes fall on a row of jars carefully labelled "Audrey III - residue." She'd meant to run a few tests on those, figure out why the plant had gotten out of control and if there was any way to identify other plants that were likely to do the same thing before they were brought ( Read more... )

So you still need that help? Rade-Zelenka had some kinda breakdown, Colonel Kirk thinks it might be related to the plant and I'm not really doing much.

Actually, yeah, you might be useful - I'm trying to figure out what's up with this damn plant, but there's not enough left of it for a normal botanical analysis to be much use and my chemistry's a little rusty.

*looks around the lab in disdain* You expect me to do a proper analysis with this equipment!

*taps radio - Dr. Kavanagh to Major Lorne* I need the chemical analyser from my lab bought down to the botany lab 2. I'm far too busy to get it myself and I don't wanna trust some random military grunt with it.

*To Katie* Fine, pass me the sample, we need to extract any chemicals it may be releasing. We should centrifuge the sample with an enzyme ribonuclease.

We could bring the sample to your lab instead of bringing your lab here, you know.

*hands him the jar*

Like I said, my chemistry's a little rusty - you're the expert. Just make sure we don't end up, I dunno, bringing it back to life or something - weirder things have happened.
