Peter was trying to get out of bed. His legs didn't want to cooperate with this proposal, and exhaustion? Yeah, definitely. Prying his eyes open took a lot of willpower. Some time later there's a knock on the door. "Peter? It's me..."

Peter was sitting on the floor, wrenching over toward the door. He felt tired and ridiculous. It took a hell of a lot of willpower to push himself to a standing position.

He was using the wall as a back brace near the door, so he was able to reach over to open it. But that was all.

"C'mon in." He sounded winded, and exhausted.

Ray pushes the door open and looks around. "Thought I should come see how- hoo, boy. Pete, you look knackered. I don't suppose you had a chance to have a doctor look at you after I got you up here?"

"If knackered means feeling like I got used as the Yankees pitcher's glove throughout the entire baseball season, yeah."

Peter continued breathing heavily as he added, "Nope, I was trying to get downstairs to find one. Just one small problem. Pete's body's staging a protest on the idea."

Ray steps in and to one side, anxiously shifting his weight from foot to foot. "It's gotten worse since last night," he murmurs, but lets Peter do the rest of the talking.
