I wonder every day what the outcome of my life might've been had I made a handful of different choices. Part of me is sad for missed opportunities but then part of me knows that I couldn't have arrived at being the person I am today without all the experiences behind me. All I can tell you is to follow your heart and to trust your instincts with each choice that you make. Never compromise your values or needs.

I agree 110% with the fact that no one (aside from those that have been deployed to a war zone) will be able to understand. I've seen hundreds of photos and hear daily accounts but the truth is I will never be able to fully appreciate what it's like because I haven't been there.

Your comment about women in a convoy made me smile. Keep your head up hon. You remain in my prayers and thoughts always.

how is it that a girl can stand outside in the blistering heat all day and still smell like a meadow...when i'm outside for like 10 minutes and am all sweaty and stinky?

answer: your a dude... haha

Keep up the writing bro! It is profound and from the heart. The world is spinning 24/7 and Iraq seems to not spin at the same speed. Been there. Just keep writing and even write private journal entries if you are going to get "too out of hand". Thanks might have changed bro, but one thing never changes, and that is the written word. Once you journal your thoughts - public, private or friends only, there will be arould for you to look back as a guide. I am not sure if it could ever make sense of shit, but it might.

Take care bro

it is powerful man, and some day when you look back on it your older self will thank your younger self for writing it. I have journals from 12 y/o on and ones from my 6 years here in MC and now LJ since Jan. Keep it up. It is very profound and heartfelt. Like I said if you don't want to open share it all still record it for yourself as a private entry, it works for sure. I am in Texas now BTW.

that sucks about not being able to sleep! i hate the feeling that when all you want to do it go to sleep, you can't...and you have no clue why, you just can't....so you end up in bed for hours doing nothing but getting frustrated about how you can't fall asleep! and about the joining the navy comment...of course it was a good thing...you wanted to do it, so the fact that you actually went through and joined is awesome! it's an experience that you will never forget and will be able to talk about forever!! i could write more but i like everyone else's comments!

I say again, "Why couldn't we have met elsewhere??"

Some girls smell like a meadow. Some smell like little piles of stuff laying in the meadow. Choose wisely. You should talk to that girl from Austin since she smells nice.
