America, Meet me at Camera 2

OK,  America,

I get it.  You were OK with the errosion of your due process in complicated legalese.

You were OK with secret detention camps, torture and rendition.

You were OK with the removal of Habeas Corpus.

But when a federal employee gets to look at your wee-wee, THEN you grab the pitchforks?

Whatever.

well, I wasn't okay with the first three, and have been writing letters and attempting to vote my convictions for about 20 years now (back when the erosion of due process was all about which substances you liked to indulge in, remember that?) but it's not as if anyone was LISTENING to me.

Or maybe they were, a little -- for all that you still can't buy grain alcohol in MA (so I wound up bringing a large bottle from CT for a friend who's making her own bitters) simple pot possession is now an infraction comparable to a traffic ticket, not a felony or even a misdemeanor. Pay the fine, go about your life.

I don't especially care if they look at me naked (although it'd be nice to have panties with radio-opaque lettering that said "up yours") but I'm not thrilled about a blast of medically unnecessary radiation, and definitely not up for a groping.

The adult-sized ones are printed with the 4th Amendment, and there's a bra with the United States Seal on the cups. They're sold out but taking pre-orders. If it looks like I'm going to be flying any time soon, I'll order some.

Your comparison is between the general public understanding degrees of abstraction. This is an amazingly self absorbed society. Most people have difficulty really being outraged by things they don't perceive to be related to them. Naked pictures and groping? That does ( ... )
