A juntoshi set in my collar universe. Inspired by Ohnos GQ Man of the year, events at Kouhaku, and Jun's stupidly pretty new Facio CM. It should be illegal for any one person to be that pretty. Seriosuly.
I also have a Matsumiya oneshot (not related to let it go) and a Ohba/Matsumiya set in the romance writer AU in my head. I just have to get through this move and have time to write them all.
It was not that Jun did not love his bandmates, since he did, some more than others but that was allowed as he was dating one of them, and not the other three. He just sometimes wondered what he had done to be gifted with bandmates like these. He knew that it was going to be one of those days when he walked into the jimusho, and the juniors went running. He could hear when not to subtly whispering to themselves, asking ‘if Matsumoto-san looked angry’, and ‘I wonder if he knows yet’, and ‘run before he sees you’ and he could also see Nino and Aiba doubled over in a fit of laughter exchanging high fives. Of course he would ruin the fun if he called out after them, letting him know that they were the victims of a prank, or that he could hear them, and see them, despite the fact that he had not had his coffee yet, but that would ruin Aiba and Nino’s fun, and sometimes it was just easier to go with it.
Oh yes, it would be one of those days, and he knew that there was no way that they would tell him what they had done, or what rumor they started this time, he would just have to wait and see, which was never fun, but sometimes things would have to run their course.
It was only when he got to their green room, where Sho and Ohno were already waiting, that Jun realized what the day was. It took a moment of him staring at Ohno and Sho, huddled over the table in the green room, and a few more minutes of trying to see between them that Jun realized what day it was.
“Oh, Oh-chan, congratulations on the release of the magazine.” Jun commented, once he realized that the something that Ohno and Sho were pouring over was the GQ man of the year special issue, and smiled back at Ohno when their Riida turned to smile and wave at him.
They had known, or at least he had knows, about the issue for as long as Ohno had, but had forgotten that today was the release of the issue. Which only served to make Jun more grumpy, and gave him a slight clue as to why the juniors were running cared of him.
“I am going to go get some coffee, anyone want anything?” Jun asked, knowing that neither would, and that it was a good think Aiba and Nino were not in the room, as Nino never turned down a free drink. Jun grabbed his wallet and left the room, frowning as he went.
Little did it he know that was going to play right into Aiba and Nino’s mischief.
Aiba, Nino, and the previous group of juniors were hiding around a corner when Jun left their room and wandered towards the cafeteria.
“Just look at that, you can tell that he is not happy about something.” Aiba whispered, and Nino nodded his agreement, though it was hard to hide his amusement. Why anyone on the building still believed anything that Aiba and Nino said was a mystery to them, but if the kouhai wanted to let themselves be tricked, who were they to stop them
“He should he happy after all.” Nino agreed, and one of the kouhai looked to Nino, his eyes wide.
“But he should be happy for Ohno-senpai. This is a huge deal.”
“I am sure that Jun is happy for Oh-chan. We all are.” Nino commented, turning to walk to their room though he did not move away from the crowd. “All I am saying is that he is upset about something. Look at the way that he is frowning.”
“He did want it for himself them.” A different kouhai gasped, and Nino snuck a glance at Aiba, who was having a hard time keeping his smiles and giggles to himself.
“I don’t know what else he would be upset about.” Nino shrugged and Aiba added with a breathy laugh.
“Just don’t let MatsuJun catch you spying on him. You know how he gets about these things.” While all the kouhai nodded, none of them really did know ‘how Jun got’ about these sorts of things. They had not been around during his more tempermental days, and while they had all danced for Arashi, and seen what Jun demanded they had not seen him in a mood.
“Just go ask some of the senpai groups. I am sure that that can tell you all about it.” Nino used that moment to walk away, since as great an actor as he was, the hesitation and whispers and plans that he heard the kouhai start was just too much. This was way too easy, and it had been far too long since anything had set the agency on edge, at least internally. Nino just wondered how long it would be before the senpai groups let the younger ones in on the agency’s worst kept secret, when Aiba and Nino were alone, and the rest of the band was not around, stay far far away, as nothing good could come of it. Ever.
So while Nino and Aiba were spreading completely false rumors, well implying things that others were spreading around the agency, which was not really their fault, though Jun and Sho would not think that was the case, Jun was trying to figure out just what the heck he was going to do.
Despite what Aiba and Nino were trying to do, Jun was very very proud of Ohno and his GQ man of the year selection, he had been from the moment that he had found out, when Ohno had shuffled in the room, looking very confused, which ahd been odd, since he could look a bit absent, but true confusion was odd for him, and had mumbled to Jun that he was GQ man of the year. From the way that he had said it, Jun knew that he did not quite believe what had just happened, but the interview, and the photoshoot had solidified it.
Ohno had worked super hard that year, they all had, but the GQ man of the year thing had just sealed in Jun’s mind the idea that he needed to do something special, for him and for Ohno. So he had tried to plan a vacation for them, a fishing trip, since he and Ohno had gone on one before, and Jun had not hated it, and it made Ohno very happy, and that always made Jun happy. But all the days that they were free, Ohno’s favorite captain was not free, and when he had finally found something that worked, Ohno’s drama special filming, and the Kouhaku practices, and then Jun’s drama filming and meeting and things had gotten in the way. Which was irritating. Since Jun really wanted to do something for Ohno, and wanted them to be able to enjoy it together. And so it was pissing him off that he could not make this work.
And Jun was sure, as he saw more kouhai whispering, and looking away, and whispering some more that his mood was not helping.
Running into Matsu-nii only added fuel to whatever fire Aiba and Nino had started, as the other man stopped to ask Jun to pass his congratulations on to Ohno for the magazine, and of course Jun had agreed, but Jun also saw the kouhai moving in on Matsu-nii, and was sure that this would not end well. He would just have to go by the TOKIO dressing room later and make sure that the kouhai had not been asked to do anything too humiliating. But first, he really needed to figure out something for Ohno.
It took until later in the day, and a group of nervous kouhai that were crowded around Ohno for Jun to figure out what had happened. It was near the Arashi rooms at the agency, and Jun could hear that the others were congratulating Ohno on his achievement. Jun could hear the conversation shift as Ohno waved at Jun, calling him over. Jun could see that Aiba and Nino were lurking nearby, so whatever it was that they had started was still in effect.
“Ah, MatsuJun. We were just discussing my magazine.” Ohno smiled at him, eyes crinkled and sleepy, but Jun could see that he was happy, and proud of his accomplishment.
“We were, and we were hoping that you would let us treat you to lunch.” Someone spoke,
“Curry.” Another added, gently pulling Ohno down the hallway, and Ohno looked at Jun, puzzled. This was clearly the first that he had heard about this.
“MatsuJun could come with us.” Ohno suggested, and Jun shook his head.
“Leaving for shooting in a bit, I don’t have time.” He apologized, and Ohno nodded, and Jun was certain that he could see the juniors smile in relief.
“Have fun though.” Jun added and it was spoken so softly that he was certain that he was not supposed to hear, but one junior looked to the other in relief.
“We saved him from Matsumoto-senapi. Though he is really good at not appearing jealous at all.”
“It is a good thing that Matsumoto-senpai is leaving for filming, it will make things easier.” The other answered back, and Jun’s eyes narrowed at the words, and from the way that Jun say Aiba and Nino stiffen he was certain that they heard it as well.
“How long do you think that we will have to keep this until he is calm…” Jun could not hear more as they moved out of his hearing with their hushed words, and the glare that he was sending Aiba and Nino could kill, were it a weapon.
This was what they had started this morning? Jun was sure that it was not their intention, but this was not acceptable.
“Fix it.” He growled at them, and they disappeared around the corner, hurrying after the juniors and Ohno. There was no way in hell that Jun was going to let his kouhai keep him from Ohno, and if Nino and Aiba didn’t fix it, and soon, Jun would, and that would be less than pleasant for all involved. Nothing strained senpai kouhai relations like an avenging senpai coming to claim that which was his from well meaning but completely misguided kouhai, even if they were a victim of Aiba and Nino’s mischievous behavior. It was just best that it not get to that point, as Jun did not want to have to revert to the ‘he is mine give him back’ strategy that would start enough rumors around the agency to rival those during the Jun is crushing on Sho period of time. Which had been hard enough.
He knew, however, that Nino and Aiba would fix this, and that the kouhai might apologize, or they might pretend that it never happened, which was what happened more often than not when Nino and Aiba were involved in a prank, and Jun was alright with that, especially when later that night, as Ohno snuggled down next to him on the bed, he muttered that the juniors were wondering when Jun was going to join them and Ohno for curry. It was as much of an apology as he was going to get, and he was alright with that.
It left him more time for planning.
Except, of course, scheduling was scheduling, and scheduling sucked, and there was just no time. As much as he wanted to, every time he got to his manager to get their schedules, there was no time off. Not with Ohno’s drama special, and Jun’s drama filming, and recording their single, and then there was the TOKIOxArashi filming’s, and the Kouhaku rehersals, and the Johnny’s countdown practices, and Jun was surprised that he got to see Ohno at home at ALL during any of this. There was certainly no way that he could plan something for both of them. But he had at least had time to cook something for Ohno at home, though it involved Jun cooking it, and leaving it for Ohno, passing him in the entry as he left for work and Ohno arrived home, but it was something at least.
