Calling in sick (M.A.I.N)

Calling in sick was dangerous in Arashi...
In theory this is set in my OT5 universe, but what ended up happening is much more M.A.I.N. than anything else. I seem to be on that bent recently. I am writing again. And I have some personal stuff to update about later, for the 5 people who actually read this ^^*

This is also my idea of a drabble. HA!

The moment that he felt the slight cough turn into something that was deep rooted in his chest, the coughs working muscles in his chest, abs and down to his pelvis Jun called his manager, made an appointment with his doctor and thought nothing else of it. Problem was by the time he got to the doctor he was sick enough that he was ordered to stay home, which was fine with him as the fever that was racking his body was enough to make him want to curl up into a ball and die. Letting his bandmates know that he would not be seeing them that night as he had acquired the plague and with medication firmly in hand all Jun wanted was to sleep until he wasn’t sick, which was possible in theory as he had days off, but not possible in practicality as the medication was not doing a lot to stop the dehabilitating coughing fits.

Upon getting home Jun went straight to the couch, and under a pile is nice warm fuzzy blankets. He would motivate himself to make tea and get food once the fever settled down some. Being this shaky from a fever was not good for culinary undertakings. He was not sure how long he was dozing in and out of consciousness, but he heard his door open and close, and one pair of footsteps moving through the apartment.

Soon after a cool washcloth was placed on his forehead, and the blankets were pulled more firmly around him. A weight settled onto the couch and Jun cracked open one eye to see Toma starting down at him fondly.

“Kazu said you were sick and needed a bit of an intervention.” Toma’s voice was soft and he moved to let Jun sit up, pressing a glass of water into the others hand. “Drink.”

Jun didn’t question it, swallowing the water slowly and allowing Toma to take the glass away, pressing some porridge into his hand next.

“Masaki decided that to get better you will need the Arashi soup of love, made by all of them. Given that not everyone in your band has culinary skills, by the second batch Kazu asked me to come check on you and make sure that you eat.”

Jun nodded, not really understanding, and Toma chuckled.

“Masaki is convinced, Kazu says, that you will get better more quickly if you eat a soup made with the love of all your band mates, so they all have to help make it. It isn’t going well, as far as I can tell from what Kazu was messaging me.” Toma chatted casually as Jun ate a few spoonfuls of the porridge, but it was enough to placate Toma.

“At some point you will get the Arashi healing soup of love, or whatever Masaki decides to name it, but in the meantime I thought I would come take care of you.” Toma took the bowl from Jun when the other had stopped eating, covering it and putting it in the fridge, before bringing back more water.

“Get better, Jun. You look like shit.” His voice was fond, and he kissed Jun’s forehead, making a noise of unhappiness at the temperature there, and Jun made a very half hearted effort to smack Toma for the comments, but the blankets were heavy, and he was so cold, and it really wasn’t worth the effort.

Jun didnt have the energy to fight Toma as the other man settled onto the couch and was pulled against his chest. He was certain that he was burning up, and that it could not be comfortable for Toma, though the other’s skin and clothing felt cool against his skin, even though they were both huddled underneath a blanket. Toma’s arms were curled loosely around him, Jun’s head cradled on his shoulder, and Jun allowed himself to relax, his arms curling around Toma in an embrace, and despite being sick he could not help but smile as Toma dropped another kiss on his head.

It did not take long for Jun to fall asleep, and he assumed that Toma had also fallen asleep with him, since the next thing he was aware of was a breathy giggle and the clicking of a camera. Cracking open one eye and feeling somewhat more human that he had before, he could see Nino peering at his phone with a smirk, and soon after the sound of text messages chimed on two phones.

“You two are cute together.” Aiba giggled, stepping aside to reveal a bowl of soup on the table, steaming how and comprised of…..Jun really couldn’t tell, but it was gelatinous, and green and the thought of food at the moment made his stomach unhappy. He did not think that he would be eating the Arashi soup of love, as well intended as it was.

Jun could feel Toma’s arms tightening around him, and he curled back into the man’s embrace, allowing sleep to claim him again, and he was sure from the extra weight on the couch that Nino and Aiba were joining them.

“Sho and Riida couldn’t come, they had other obligations after our planned dinner, but they send their love in the soup.” Aiba’s voice was pitched in a whisper, and Jun only half heard it, content to just sleep, and the additional bodies on the couch only served to relax him. With Sho’s love in the soup Jun definitly wouldnt be eating it.

Perhaps his life was not a normal life, but this kind of contentedness could only come from the people who surrounded him now, he was sure. Jun shift, nuzzling Toma’s neck as he tried to get comfortable, and he was sure that he heard a very soft moan coming from the other man, inaudible to the other as they shifted around, trying to get comfortable, and Nino was hissing at Aiba to watch where his elbows were poking, and to be quiet as Jun and Toma and sleeping (though it was Nino making most of the noise), and Jun’s last thought of the day as Toma grabbed his hand, holding it tightly, was that when he was better, he (and Aiba and Nino) could find several ways to thank Toma for taking such good care of Jun when he was sick.
