My spell check / grammar check is a dumb-ass. I was trying to type: "He inhabits a world..." and it kept auto-correcting it as "He inhabit's." That's...not even real; you would never say that. Well, it is just Microsoft Works...but I am disappoint ( Read more... )

Man, that's why I always disable the grammar part of the spellcheck. Useless.

I burst out laughing at the 'I am disappoint' being correct, though. Clearly it's a conspiracy.

I could ignore it quite happily...IF IT ACTUALLY KNEW ENGLISH!! rraaaarrll

The way it insists on separating "owlship" into two words frustrates me too :)

Ow, now I'm mighty curious... Who inhabits which world? ;o)

I was writing to you, actually! Data inhabits a world of diplomats and explorers who should be more adaptive to his unusual nature than they often are. (Not his general crewmates, but Starfleet in general... and some of the aliens they encounter. The crew encounter life forms so strange, they don't always realize they're sentient. Data can't possibly be the strangest being they've seen, or the hardest to relate to! (Q says to Picard, “I’m not an Aldebaran serpent, but you were prepared to accept me as that.” It’s true; Picard barely bats an eyelash and just treats him (with hostility), but like an individual.)
etc. etc. etc.
But it got off-topic to your post, so I cut it for now.
