My computer wouldn't turn on at first, and when it did, a shocked spider (it was friendly - only about 1cm inc. legs) intermittently wandered about my left sceen for a while, before wandering up to a safe haven on the top of the screen. That's a shame! Although it probably didn't have much concept of time. I think I'd probably wonder why I weaved a web that was made out of a much more solid substance than usual, and why no food was flying into it and getting stuck.

Actually, maybe that spider was getting a form of karmic come-uppance for trapping flies in a similar way?

Imagine what the de-gaussing must have felt like. Like... like... millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

See, it's pretty difficult thinking like a spider. Can spiders actually hear, or do they use magnetic legs? Like some kind of cyber-cricket, but made out of organism.
