So today I totally skipped school to watch this incredible play. And hell, I didn't have to ditch school. Yay me!
Anyways I was grouped up with the Gifted kids and the Drama kids. I was in the third group; the AP English kids. I was totally out of place. Luckily my "girlfriend" came along with me. It made the trip so much better. Har har. ILOVEHERMUCHO.
So anyways, we watched the play "The School of Night" at the Mark Taper Forum which we learned was just finished remodeling. A very spiffy place I might add. The seats were soft as clouds, I swear. I wanted to take a screwdriver and just take it. It was that to die for.
LOLLERSKATES. Back to topic yes? The play itself was as awesome as awesome sauce. I know great description yeah? But the greatest thing was that we were sitting front row. I practically felt their breath on me. I kid, but I was really close. I almost touched a guy and a rug. It was pretty cool to be that close. It's a really different point of view then sitting way back behind some guy's huge head. Well, the play itself was heart wrenching, funny, and had wonderful cast overall. The two main leads are hot as hell, which are respectfully, John Sloane and Gregory Wooddell. Good lordy, they shared a kiss on stage near the middle at the end. And I AWW'd and a fan girl giggle slipped out. Even my friend couldn't help it. Oh~ it was pretty hot too, though it lasted a few long painful seconds. My heart nearly fell out. Such a powerful scene. Yeah, I'm a bit sensitive. The ending scene got to me as well. It was just. I was left speechless. There were no words to express how insanely good that play was, like right after the curtain closed. I swear I must have WHOOTed and clapped my heart out when they came out for the curtain call. I made sure to give a few wolf whistles [at least an attempt] to Mister Sloane and Mister Wooddell. ;D Hmm, I don't know if it was me, well probably it was just me. I thought Mister Sloane looked like Matthew Broderick and Mister Wooddell, Cary Elwes. Then again, I just watched Glory the other day in my history class. It might have just been me. But lordy lord, they were magnificent in every aspect even if they held a slight resemblance to those certain celebrities.
Augh, I'd kill to watch that play again. It's been awhile since my inner theater geek has been feed. It sure damn well is happy now. I only hope to watch Carmen, Wicked, Spring Awakening, Jersey Boys, Phantom of the Opera, and all these other freakin' awesome plays. I would love to travel to New York one day and just be there to embrace the Broadway life. Ahh, one day. One day I will. Well that was my day. It was just super fantastic. The best of many days to come I hope. Also, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for my friend who is preforming today in "The Diary of Anne Frank." I'll be there Friday to cheer her on. Until then!
