I've been pretty much enraged all day, ever since I opened the newspaper. Nearly exploded when I saw the "Stop the Boats" sign at the polling place, had to settle for telling the Coalition how-to-vote person that they ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Why nobody ran a King Canute ad is beyond me.

As well as the fact that I would like to support refugees, rather tha harass them...

This was at my old primary school in Fremantle. When I was there in the 80s, one of my friends was a kid who'd drunk salt water for a week on a leaking boat out from Vietnam. Wonder what he would've made of that sign.

I'm quite shattered, and when I think about the position the government was in twelve months ago, I'm deeply upset.

At least the balance of power over here was fluffy useless people rather than people too right-wing for the Nationals.
