Chuck counts the hits against the shield - too small to be people, thankfully; more likely some sort of small objects. And there's a pattern to the hits...he types in the numbers, looking for a match in the computer.
Kavanagh's IDC.
He barely waits for permission before he dials back and sends a MALP through. The camera pans around, looking for a visual of him. "Dr. Kavanagh, if you're there, please respond," he says through the radio.
Adrenaline and relief surge through him and he runs towards the camera on the MALP.
"Yes. It's me." He replies, breathless with the sudden activity. "Let me in?" He was trying for something eloquent and witty or at least cutting but that's all that comes out.
Chuck smiles as he sees Kavanagh's face in the camera. Never would have guessed he'd be so glad to see him...
"I'm going to shut down the 'Gate, dial back and radio me through the MALP and I'll lower the shield," Chuck says. "Everyone's missed you here."
The Stargate shuts down, and Chuck uses the brief interlude to use his radio. He knew David was in the infirmary, but..."Major Lorne, report to the 'Gate room unless you're in the middle of a crisis, please. We're about to have company that I think you'll like to see."
While he's thinking of it, he radios for a med team to be standing by, just in case.
"Ok Sergeant." He replied over the radio before heading to the gateroom. He walked upto Lenoir. "Who is it?" he asked his hands in his pockets as he glanced at the gate.
Just on the verge of consciousness, Calvin can feel something scurrying up his arm. One of those rat-like creatures, he thinks immediately. He's seen what they can do and he flings his arm around wildly trying to get rid of it. His throat making frantic, terrified sounds

NIck frowned softly and lens down resting his forehead against Cal's, the tears slipping down dropping onto his pale skin as Lorne wrapped his arms around him tightly holding on. "I saw you die." He whispered his voice hitching
Initially the words shock him and he can't react, can't think anything beyond what that must have been like. Whether he could have survived it if it had been Nick. But it also makes sense, makes the pieces fall into place and he urgently wants to embrace Nick back. To reassure him that he was here and alive and not leaving. But he's trapped by the restraints of the infirmary bed and by Nick's arms so he can barely move. He settles for relaxing under him and letting him have what he needs. He turns his head slightly so he can speak directly into Nick's ear, reducing the amount of effort needed. "Oh Nick," he starts, his voice soft and pained. "It's over now." It's all he can think to say.
