[A basic question, but should probably be asked anyways. From what he's seen in the forest, there could very well be a mud goliath or monster in these waters.]
What is in the lake?
[After some searching 'n working, Malkus finally has some containers for gathering leeches and other tiny critters. With four jars, his journal and a net from the boat house, the doctor is ready to go hunting! Any passerby will see the tall plague doctor struggling with the net out in the lake. He's not too far but deep enough to reach his thighs. His journal is safely resting over in the grass, nice and dry, regularly being checked up on just in case someone answers.
With all his loud splashing, it'll be a miracle if he manages to get anything but a cold. When he's not being tangled in his net, he's hunched over, seeming to observe and wonder if there's even anything in these waters to catch.]
