What is this? [Audio] [Little bit of video]

Jun 26, 2010 15:36

[The comm clicks on!]

...

[Another click, comm going silent for a moment, only to click back on. This time the soft voice of a man is heard, seeming to be whispering to himself]

...What a strange little device... Odd... A gift perhaps?

[He doesn't seem to realize it's on, a shaking noise then a loud SLAM is heard]

Huh?...Tough little thing aren't you ( Read more... )

[UNFAZED BY THE BIRDFACE :3]

It's a magic box you've got, and is a good way to communicate to others, along with find a good recipe for cream scones.

Wh-...What?

[This contradicts everything he's been told so far, WHAT TO BELIEVE WHAT TO BELIEVE]

Magic? ... A recipe ... for ... cream scones? Do tell, miss!

[He's starving, and anything that's not a raw vegetable sounds like a blessed food of the gods]

I am so sorry. entirelybonkers June 27 2010, 00:54:36 UTC
Oh, well - all you need to do is ask, really. Mother taught me quite some time ago how to make the most wonderful little tea cookies and biscuits, scones included. You hold it up, press the button, and it will magically broadcast to everyone your request!

Would you like some scones? I made some.

[A faint grumbling is heard coming from his stomach]

That...That sounds rather nice

[He'd dive out've this room in search of this food if he wasn't too afraid of what might be out there]

Tea....as well? ...

Oh, of course! One can never have scones without tea. I will fix it, and bring it to you right away!

[Scuttle scuttle.

...Pause.]

And, where might you be, by the by?

U-Um...Oh! One thousand and six!

...

I'm not certain...what...erm....deck that is...

A-Are you sure you're alright with heading out on your own?

I've been told of these "Dangers"

[Having not moved anywhere outside of his room yet, he's going to safely assume that the halls are crammed with demons, dragons, bears, killers, and death itself...It's always better to prepare for the worst anyways...]

I-I'm sorry...Who is this, by the way?
My name's Malkus...

Well, if you can, poke your head out the door and tell me what the decor is like - each deck is distinctly different, you know. It's all really quite nice, in actuality.

Oh, I assure you - I'm quite fine meandering this place by myself! This boat is strange and curious indeed, but I have to admit it that while it comes close, It can't really compare to Underland.

[There's a rattle. Someone was already in a kitchen somewhere.]

Alice. Alice Kingsleigh. It's a pleasure to meet you.

[A nervous trembling cough is heard]

F-Fine...

[Foot steps and a door knob turning, followed by it opening slowly as Malkus peeks his head out to a rather beautiful Old Victorian style deck]

O-....Oh...Well...it's very...pretty...[A step forward, this one sounding different, he seems to be tapping his foot against a hardwood floor]

I'm not...certain how to describe it...It's very nice...and it seems i'm at the end of a hallway...

[He closes the door, shuffling around his things]

[She clicks her tongue in thought, going over in her mind what the 'pretty decks' were.]

Hm. Vague, but I suppose it'll have to do. Now, do you prefer cream and sugar at all with your tea?

[A few rushed steps around are heard, it seems he took a moment to run down a hall and back]

I-It seems I'm around a spa of some sort?

[He thinks for a moment...He's almost tempted to say both and plenty of it but he's going to do his best to decide]

U-Um...Sugar...N-No cream!...

[A confused sigh]

E-...Either?

Ah, the spa! Yes yes, that helps tremendously, though I've never actually been in it before, I do know where it is and if I may say so knowing something about something is really something, wouldn't you say?

[Plink plink, clatter.]

Alright, I'll bring both, for you, if you like and if that will make things quiet easier in the long run. I'll be there in a moment.

[Several moments, but Alice can move quick, tea tray balanced precariously in one hand, and tray full of scones in the other. Knock knock! Or, perhaps a light kick is a more appropriate term, considering Alice's hands are quite full.]

E-Er...Something...Yes, something's usually some....thing

[He seems a bit confused. Atleast he tried!]

[He jumps at the knock, rather nervous as it is]

Alice? That you?

[He rushes to the door, taking a quick moment to organize things in his room, chairs and whatnot.]

S-Sorry! Just a moment!

[He cracked it open, slowly peeking his long beak out, staring over at you for a moment before opening it quickly]

Would you like help with that?!

entirelybonkers June 27 2010, 22:46:33 UTC
Precisely.

[She waits patiently until the door is opened, shifting her weight on her hips ever so slightly in order to balance out the weight of what she's holding. Once said door is cracked, she dips her head in greeting, and nods.]

I would be most grateful if you could possibly take one of these trays - while I'm accustomed to holding heavy things such as the Vorpal sword, I must admit I'm not exactly what one might call the domestic type? Mother hates it, but I find it quite satisfying to be outside the norm.

[If he opens that door wide enough, he find that tea tray pushed very carefully into his hands, while Alice gracefuly (sort of) sweeps into his room with the scones.]

[He quickly, yet gently grabs the tea tray with both hands, opening the door the rest of the way with his foot]

S-Sorry! I'll just set this over here...

[He stumbles a bit over to the table, doing his best to maintain balance as he focuses on everything on the tray at once. He's not used to carrying much other than his bag, and he's not exactly a master of balance]

Well now...erm...

[He tilts his head curiously at the tray, setting it down on the table. Glancing over at the scones hungrily, remaining silent about it of course]

[Alice peers at him curiously - now, she was no stranger to fumblings and mishaps and this and that (she'd learned through her short second go round in Underland things were never as they seemed), but she was a bit perturbed at his continuous nervousness.

Than again, she supposed if one weren't used to this sort of thing (such as falling into rabbit holes, shrinking and growing, being stuffed into teapots and riding bloodhounds bareback) that this boat could be rather strange indeed.

Alice follows deftly after him and settles the tray of scones down right next to the tea, smiling at him.]

Do help yourself. Would you like some tea?

[As much as he relied on this mask, it was a burden at times. For example it's rather hard to show facial expressions through it so all she's seeing is a blank bird face staring back at her. Trust him though. He hid a slight grin behind this mask]

Um...Y-Yes I suppose i'll serve myself if you don't mind.

[He blinked...Oh! How rude of him! He moved over to a chair, pulling it out for the lady, nodding down at it a bit. As frightening as this whole ordeal was to him, it's no excuse for impoliteness]

Pardon me for being a bit frantic. I really am grateful for this!

[He couldn't help but stare over at those scones once more, his face turning red as his stomach growled again]
