What is this? [Audio] [Little bit of video]

[The comm clicks on!]

...

[Another click, comm going silent for a moment, only to click back on. This time the soft voice of a man is heard, seeming to be whispering to himself]

...What a strange little device... Odd... A gift perhaps?

[He doesn't seem to realize it's on, a shaking noise then a loud SLAM is heard]

Huh?...Tough little thing aren't you ( Read more... )

[UNFAZED BY THE BIRDFACE :3]

It's a magic box you've got, and is a good way to communicate to others, along with find a good recipe for cream scones.

I would imagine that it would get a bit tiresome after awhile, having to constantly flap your wings...[A very soft weak laugh. Laame.]

Eugh. No clothing at all? That does sound pretty...uncomfortable. Gone forever? ... The clothing, I mean...

I suppose I'll just have to do my best not to die, now won't I?

That is very true...I suppose that's why DaVinci invented those flying machines - though I've no idea if they actually work or not.

[She ponders, nibbling at the remains of a scone.]

Well now that you mention it, I'm not quite sure about that. I'm certain they're allowed to have clothing back at some point. [She thinks, anyway. She really doesn't know.]

I think that would be best, don't you? I've done fairly well since my arrival, I'm still fully intact and not missing any body parts, so I think I've done quite alright.

Machines? [He glanced at his little communicator "machine", imagining someone getting on a bird like machine and flying around that way]

I suppose that would be more convinient... I certainly hope they work!

[He takes another gulp of his tea, repeating the motions he's done this entire time, pulling his mask up then down.]

I hope they do... [He couldn't imagine having to sneak around this ship in the nude, he face was turning red at just the thought!]

Quite alright indeed. [He nods]

Optimistically, I'd like to keep atleast 90% of my body parts by the end of all this. 100% of them even...

Oh yes, wings and all sorts of different things. Father had a collection of things he'd done - my father was quite mad like me, you see, so he liked to keep books on all different sorts of people who had either been considered mad or been known to have mad ideas.

[Alice tilts her head at him, smile sneaking onto her face again. She quite liked this fellow - perhaps he was as bonkers as she.]

I think 100% is ideal, but I suppose I could survive with 99% or maybe 98%, as long as that one tiny percentage wasn't say, my head.

[He nods his head a bit, listening]

Well your father sounds like a very interesting fellow. I'm certain you two got along rather well. Perhaps you would have gotten along well with DaVinci too! You think he might be joining us anytime soon on this ship? [Another small laugh, he couldn't remember the last time he's laughed this much. Appearing on this ship might not be as horrid a fate as he thought, if there were people like this aboard.]

Oh my, I believe the head would be a rather important percentage to have. I couldn't bare to part with any of my appendage-percentage come to think of it. I suppose every part of a body does something, 'cept perhaps my little toe. Though I'd imagine the other toes might miss it, if it were to leave.

[Such a silly conversation this was. Still, it was great to talk to another human being for once. He considered himself rather lucky taking everything into consideration. Perhaps things were starting to take a turn for the better.]

Oh, he most certainly is. [Setting her teacup and saucer down on the table, she uses her hands to gesticulate wildly as she speaks.]

He had these mad, wonderful idea's that no one believed in, no one wanted to help with. He showed them all, really - when he died, Lord Ascott bought the trading company, and I had an idea as I was floating back towards the surface that we could even trade with China - can you imagine it? Being the first to do so! Wouldn't it be simply marvelous?

[She looks a little excited at the prospect of DaVinci joining the ship. So much so, she gasps quietly.]

Do you think? Do you think it's possible he might arrive? I hardly think one plans on arriving on board but imagine! DaVinci, for all his wondrous paintings and inventions...here! On this very boat! Why, it'd be a dream come true, I think!

[Oh, Alice would so love for that to happen.]

I'm certain your others toes would be very lonely without the company of the littlest one! Why, they say it's the smallest things that make the biggest difference, anyway ( ... )

With China? That WOULD open up a whole world of opportunities!

[He wasn't quite sure where this "China" was, but he imagined it would be great to trade with them nonetheless.]

I suppose that anything is possible at this point. It doesn't seem that the ship has any exact method for choosing who appears or not. And yes, that's true I could think of a few small things people couldn't live without! Also a few small things I could live without...perhaps rats...and bees. [He said, with another laugh. You could tell that he was smiling as he spoke.]

Oh, I'm so glad you agree! [She nods enthusiastically, having no idea that he doesn't have much of a clue as to what she's talking about.

Then again, most don't.]

I rather think you're right - it most certainly seems as if anything is possible these days, though I was beginning to think that was the case anyway.

[Alice smiles - really smiles, because she's truly enjoying this conversation.]

[He nods back, stuffing a scone up his mask]

Thank you again, for all this [He nods towards the trays]

I'm just a stranger yet you went out've your way to make me feel rather welcome on this ship. I appreciate it, Miss Alice.

[He paused a bit, not sure what else to say.]

I hope the others are as hospitible. I'm sure there has to be at least a few other kind hearts here!

Well, I rather think we were all strangers at one point. If some of us weren't even kind enough to serve another tea, why...then I'm not sure where we'd be, or even who we'd be! It sounds more along the lines of the Red Queen, you know. Just plain nastiness, that one.

[She chuckles, and nods.]

Oh, why yes! There are several that are just as hospitable and kind as they can be. If you have the chance to meet Godric, he's quite pleasant, if perhaps a bit quiet. Doesn't talk much, you see. And, if you happen along Tarrant, why, I'm quite sure you'd walk away from that encounter with the best hat possible!

[A very interesting way to view things. It seems this girl is rather smart in a way....She's still crazy though, but in a good way...if there's "good crazy"]

Hm...It seems I've learned a thing or two from you!

[He tilted his head a bit, making mental notes]

Godric? I'll be sure to say hello one of these days, I suppose!

[He tugged at his old black hat, pulling it off the top of his head, revealing a scraggly mess of hair]

A new hat would be interesting...I mean I still like this one but it's always nice to have more than one hat...Hm.

[He placed the hat back snuggly on his head]

I'll be sure to meet this Tarrant fellow aswell.

[She beams, and takes the rest of her tea in one swallow. So very delicious, that. She'll have to brew another pot shortly.]

Oh, Tarrant does make the best hats, I'm certain if he were to fashion one for you, it would be quite unlike anything you ever could have imagined!

[She smiles.]

Not to say that the hat you are currently sporting is unacceptable, of course.

[Malkus leaned back in his chair, picturing a hat identical to his current one only with a decorative feather added on]

My, that DOES sound rather appealing. I will deffinately have to meet with this Tarrant fellow.

[He looked back at her, nodding. He rather did like this hat quite alot.]

Why thank you!

Doesn't it just?

[She dips her head into a little bow.]

Of course, my dear Malkus! Now, I'm afraid I'm going to have to leave you now - I've got to run meet Tarrant for tea, but I do hope to see you again very soon!

Goodbye, Miss Alice!

[He stands and does alittle bow back]

I certainly hope to see you again very soon, aswell!

[He runs over to the door and opens it for you.]

Feel free to stop by anytime!
