[Hello, Keep! The following doctor voice shall be accompanied with a distant, and rather unhappy sounding, younger voice.]

Yes, I know Ezra, I know. I'm asking!

Ah yes, hello, fellow residents of the keep? It seems, by the looks of things, that me and my friend Ezra are not the only ones who have managed to get ourselves in a rather- We'll get ( Read more... )

[Ezra is just gonna be sitting here, grumpy as can be, wearing a scowl that could wilt flowers.]

You can post from the bathroom, the books are waterproof. If I have to be handcuffed to someone, I want to be comfortable.

[Even if it means Malkus isn't.]

[Another sigh. Malkus is usually very tolerant of young ones, but being chained to Ezra can crack even the strongest of patience.]

Yes, yes fine. But- I suppose I should have considered the water needs of a water... nixie. Really though. Again?

[He glares down at their shackles. He knew, right when this damned thing came to life and dragged Malkus to Ezra, that things were going to be rather troublesome.]

I'm not the most comfortable either, you know!

Yes again. It's important.

[...No, it really wasn't. Ezra could survive without water in this body as well as any human could, he just found it rather unpleasant.

He tugs again at the cuffs, just to bother Malkus.]

Just let me get wet again and then we can look for the keys. You don't have a problem with being wet, do you?

[This isn't a kind question, it's more of an accusation.]

Well, no. And very well, I suppose if it's important, then who am I to judge?

[His arm swings out limply as Ezra tugs, causing Malkus to have to hunch his back a bit to keep their hands at the same level.]

No, I have no troubles with the water... It's just such a chore to have to dry my robe each time.

[He feels this accusational tone. It really is quite uncomfortable to get your clothes wet! And it's so cold...]

You too Malkus?

[She waves at the screen]

Hi, Ezra

[There's small embarrassed laugh as the video screen pops up, showing Malkus and Ezra both seeming just a bit sour... Well, at least Ezra. Malkus continues to keep his blank and emotionless bird expression.]

Aha, yes it seems so. You've been chained to someone, then? I don't suppose your key was the correct one, either.

Not. Exactly? [The camera pans over. Instead of being attached to another person, she's attached to a giant black wolf, meaning Derek parading around as a wolf. The wolf quietly 'woofs' are the screen in greeting. It pans back to her, she gives him a sheepish smile.]

And my key didn't work either.

No? What do you- Oh. Oh my, that does seem rather different!

[Malkus is just going quickly lean back from the journal a bit. At least this wolf isn't going insane and trying to maul the nice woman!]

A friend of yours, Miss Donovan? Seems quite pleasant for a wild animal. Unfortunate business about the key... Perhaps they do not even match up with any cuffs and are to give a false sense of hope? Seems like the kind of cruel prank that might be pulled here...

I have a key, and it certainly does not fit my own. Tell me, are you shackled to anyone, friend?

Where may I find you?

[At this point, Malkus 'n Ezra have tried all they could in the smith and are just taking a breather.]

Ah- Dastan. Good to hear from you. Yes, I'm afraid I've got Ezra here to keep me company. We're in the smith, but do take some caution as my own shackle is still unoccupied and I'm quite certain it would take a liking to you if it were to see you.

Ezra? I don't believe he and I have met.

Hmm, that could pose a problem. The smith is an excellent idea, though. How near to Ezra had you been when you were locked together?

Rather far away, actually. Certainly not close enough to make physical contact, but it seems that didn't quite matter. This is definitely not a regular type of metal either, as we've been trying to break it to absolutely no avail.
