to keep from flaming someone...

Someone on my friends page posted an article about the protests at the statehouse this morning, in favor of and against Senate Joint Resolution 7, the amendment banning same-sex marriage in the state of Indiana. This person stated that he/she was in attendance at this particular protest...the one outside. But, instead of publishing my point of ( Read more... )

Here's a Quote to keep in mind from "Pulp Fiction",
Jules: "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee". - Ezekiel 25:17

Now tell me why that you think that everybody hates me, why I was fired, why I am still standing tall. Here is a simple reason I choose my path the path I want to walk down apon and not that of one being made for me to walk on. I have looked in the face of the devil and I went back that night to church were in which case I am catholic-irish family man. to say it in english I have amitted that the sin's of the past can't be washed a way from me,but when I learn to correct the problem in the future that sin will be forgiven.

WOW ok I actually read more than the first sentence and then had Stephanie explain the bible stuff... and WOW

I don't understand the bible enough to feel that I have any right nor do I feel I have a reason to comment on it, not to mention it's obviously a sensitive subject

I would just like to say, the protest had nothing to do with god (because this is a legal matter)
I did not stand outside for hours and freeze to calm god's ok with homosexuality, or that the church should accept same-sex marriage
I went to do all I could, in this wonderful free nation we live in, to voice my opinion and to fight for MY right to HAVE A CHANCE to pass a bill allowing me to marry

You can preach all you want but last time I read the constition your bible didn't have any legal standing

I really don't want this to turn into a flam war but I just wanted to explain to you why I went

I think you missed the point, it's more than about your belifes, it's about rights, a right you already have

In response (but not as an attack), I think you should go back and read the Constitution. This country was founded on religious beliefs, whether the current government likes it or not.

Regardless, I did not say that the protest was to claim that God is okay with homosexuality (though the same article you posted quotes some of the protestors as saying "God loves gays"). I merely said that your post of that article made me decide to write this entry.

I wasn't preaching against your rights. Whether the law passes or not does not change the fact that homosexuality is a sin, nor does it change the consequences of this sin.

Sorry if my reply seemed like an attack, I just thought I should clarify why I was there
I didn't say a lot about it other than posting an article
I hope this hasn't caused any bad feelings etc.

I'm sorry if I was dramatic, I just felt judged and wasn't sure you got that this wasn't about how god felt about homosexuals, at least to me it wasn't

ok see you around

I'm not going to be as nice as Ali was.

Why do people like you insist on trying to defile our love with your hate?

You're bashing my LIFE, and denying my LOVE, and you think that reading me a bible story about raping Lot's virgin daughters is going to make me feel differently? Do you honestly think that makes you better than me? More right than me?

I always thought you were less ignorant than that. I guess I thought wrong.
