I'll be honest: Given that Thoats are from Edgar Rice Burroughs and Romulans are from Star Trek, I can't tell whether you're being ironic.

I couldn't decide where they might be from. I thought they'd both be from either Star Wars or Star Trek, and I thought Star Trek sounded more likely. So yeah, I was trying to be ironic, and only half-succeeded. Which could arguably be considered ironic in itself.
