"Oh, hey," she said. "I promised Papa and Cole that I'd do some research."

"Hey, Kiddo." Wilson greeted her from where he was sitting at Phale's desk, looking through a very old book.

"Lucifer is doing some translating for me."

"That's... nice," Marie said, never quite sure what to make of her Dad's bond with the devil.

She set her tea down and started scanning the spines of the books. "I'm really sorry about last night," she said, glad to have something other than her dad to look at.

It was all right, a decade into the bond and sometimes Wilson and the devil didn't entirely know what to do with each other either.

"Hmm?" Wilson said and he looked up, blinked and then seemed to focus. "Marie, it wasn't your fault."
