My kid is definitely going to be taught to defend himself. Schools now are such bullshit with the way they do this stuff.

I got suspended when I snapped after being bullied for a long time. I got my ass handed to me hard though. I didn't have enough sense to grapple with the little guy, I tried to slug it out with him. I didn't know how ot throw qood punch, he did.

When the vice prinicpal called my grandmother and said I was in a fight (Grandma was a retired school teacher) she said "Well good for him." and the VP said that's what he thought too, but they can't condone fighting in school so I got in school supsension for the rest of the day. I sat at a desk in a supply closet and did my homework. That was the only trouble I got in and I never heard about it again.

i was taught how to defend myself, and yes, usually i was the one put into mediation of ISS for "fighting". Kids didn't know what to do with a spinning backfist. Usually, any sentence my sister and i were given were less than severe, since we were almost always the new kids at a new school.
