Are you playing six-degrees of separation? You'd be surprised how many "stars" had less memorable bit parts in their early days. It's all about the face time...
I guess I was playing it, kinda. I just remembered the fact that I had worked on shows that both those ladies worked on, as I wrote the post, and I thought it was interesting.
As far as early parts, I know that actors start out taking whatever they can get, which is why you saw George Clooney on Facts of Life, Leonardo DiCaprio on Growing Pains, and Tom Selleck as a cigarette pitchman (I think it was in magazine ads for Kool!).
