[OOC: state of the union]
IN CHARACTER: Ryuuken is doing very well! He went home for vacation and checked up on his house, Uryuu and his hospital which are all doing just fine. It's not something he actively worries about much in camp because he knows that time doesn't pass for him back home, but it's nice to have that verification. Things are also going well with Rikuou, so while staying in camp is not really ideal, it makes things a lot easier. Especially since he's been in camp almost five and a half years now.
OUT OF CHARACTER: I'm pretty comfortable with his situation in camp and the way I play him. I am going to try and work on getting him out more so that he can form a few more relationships, but I am not feeling terribly pressured to do so. It's also really nice that he showed back up in BLEACH again! And that some assumptions that I had made were validated. Also he's still a giant dick and I love him.

IN CHARACTER: Her misfortune flared up again after not having had anything happen for quite some time, so she is kind of shaken up. It's a reality check for her, so she's going to start distancing herself a bit in certain situations, just to be on the safe side. On the other hand, Hijikata continues to be the best boyfriend and he makes her really happy. She's also making some new friends, so. Himawari still loves camp a a lot.
OUT OF CHARACTER: xxxHOLiC is over! Himawari got on a bus'd! This actually killed my drive to play her for a little while, but I said fuck this shit and now she's getting played a lot. I love all of her threads and I love her relationships and yes. ♥

OUT OF CHARACTER: Touda is my super backburner and always will be. I get him out once or twice a month and I'm fine with that. I could drop him, but I don't feel like I need to.

IN CHARACTER: He is so fucking bored, man. SO BORED. He is itching to travel and it frustrates him to no end that he is stuck. But his relationship with Tatsumi is progressing pretty well! Tatsumi is considering considering PDA! This is amazing! And yeah, they totally sexed each other over vacation, so he's happy with that. Even if the idea of being in a somewhat stable (and longterm?) relationship is still weird to him.
OUT OF CHARACTER: I still love playing Fuuma even if he's starting to get a bit twitchy. I need to throw him out a bit more so that he can make new friends, but I'm okay with how things are for the most part. I was holding onto a small hope that he would show up in holic before it ended, but he didn't. Ah well.

IN CHARACTER: Conrad misses Yuuri so fucking much. SO MUCH. As a result, going home was both good and bad for him in a way. Now that he's back in camp, he's been thinking a lot about home, and while he logically knows that the others can watch out for Yuuri, it's still Conrad's duty and he hates not being able to do it. He also wishes that he could help Richter more, but he will continue to soldier on in the face of adversity or something.
OUT OF CHARACTER: Gosh, I love his icons and keywords. :) Also, NGL, I have been thinking about dropping Conrad a lot the past month or so. I've come to terms with the fact that I'm probably never going to get castmates for him, which would help, but. Eh. I think forming some new relationships with him might make things easier, so I am going to try that and keep him for the time being, but it's entirely possible that he'll be going home soon.

IN CHARACTER: WHAT IS MY LIFE. He went home for vacation and things sucked and then he came back and was a kid for a month which also sucked and now he is mostly canon updated. Which also sucks. But he's not dead and he found his person, so life could be worse.
OUT OF CHARACTER: I'm pretty chill with him and I still absolutely love his character. Canon updating helped and I'm getting him out a bit more now. And I love his relationship with Robin. I'm kind of handwaving a bit with regards to his update because I know Kanda is going to show up again in DGM at some point, but since we nothing about when that'll be or the situation, I'm trying to be as vague as possible.

IN CHARACTER: Life is good. He and Rakan are engaged. (Married?) And when they went home for vacation they were able to meet up with all of the numbered children again after getting separated before coming to camp. So it's nice to know they're all right. Other than that, he's chill with camp.
OUT OF CHARACTER: I love playing Chigusa. I love his relationships in camp and I love his canon. I feel slightly disconnected to it because I'm behind on getting the raws for the current chapters, but I don't feel like I'm struggling with anything as a result.

IN CHARACTER: She would really, really like to be having sex with Kazuhiko. A lot. Other than that, she's pretty great. The idea of settling is kind of . . . unsettling to her just because she never imagined it would ever happen. But they are and they've got their camp kids and she's just fine.
OUT OF CHARACTER: Redid her keywords like I've been meaning to and now I feel better. I don't really have any plans for her and I'm okay with that.

IN CHARACTER: Ha ha ha, Naoe is just. So frustrated (both sexually and in general) and confused because of some recent events that happened with Takaya. Given enough time, he'll sort things out, but for now he's mostly just kind of FML about things. But he's not suicidal at the moment! And not not taking care of himself which is an improvement. He is also selfishly glad that he and Takaya are trapped here because that means the two of them can spend all this time together and not have to worry about enemies or any of the other bullshit with the war going on back home.
OUT OF CHARACTER: I . . . should really thread Naoe off of other people that aren't Takaya. But I am also just kind of a whore and want to thread them ALL THE TIIIIIIME and do terrible things. Like, seriously, there is a terrible thread-shaped hole in my life right now because we're not playing them. Which isn't to say that I don't enjoy his threads with other people because I do! I particularly liked his thread with Shaun. But gosh we are veering off from canon in a wonderful way and things are interesting and terrible and ksjhfkdsfaf I love this canon and I love these characters so much.

IN CHARACTER: People keep bringing up significant others and Ren is just like gdit because he is super in love with Kyoko! But she has renounced love forever and this makes him a sad puppy.
OUT OF CHARACTER: I'm always a little shaky on Ren's voice, but I think I'm doing all right. And his keywords crack me up all the time I love them. AND CANON IS SO AMAZING, GUYS. IF YOU HAVEN'T READ OR WATCHED SKIP BEAT DO IT NOW.

IN CHARACTER: He is such a sad panda right now because he's been canon updated which means [SPOILERS], but he's trying to keep trucking on and now he has to counsel kids about feelings and shit and he is just like, what.
OUT OF CHARACTER: I am not very confident in Hijikata's voice. A canon review might help! But I think I really just need to play him more and this counseling thing is a good opportunity.

IN CHARACTER: Camp is so confusing and Claire is a smooth motherfucker and she is a lot of .//. and a lot of o_O and a lot of :| because that is how she rolls.
OUT OF CHARACTER: I feel so bad throwing Chane at people sometimes because she doesn't talk! So it is a hell of a lot of action tags and that requires the other person to talk. I try to make her tags interesting and insightful, but IDK if it is working very well. I really enjoy playing her, though, and I'm so glad I apped her.

IN CHARACTER: He's only been in camp a couple weeks or something, so he's mostly just like, wtf is going on here. But he's been reunited with Asari and that makes him happy even if Asari is a meanie and a giant troll.
OUT OF CHARACTER: I'm a little unsure about his voice, but I just need to settle in with him! I should up the drama CDs for people some time because they are amazing and everyone should listen to them and also read this canon.

I was going through a really high period with camp where I was playing a lot and loving all my threads and while I still do, I'm sliding back a bit. It doesn't help that I've been sick and my work schedule is all wonky and up in the air right now. In general, though, I'm pretty happy with my characters and my play and I would like to play with more people!!!
