Hello!! doctorwho_meta will now be hosting "Season Seven Saturdays" to discuss/meta on the new episodes as they air. Everything that is NOT under a cut will be spoiler-free.
After the end and Eleven's delight in the Dalek's question, I flashed to that moment in Utopia when the Doctor explains who he is and there is nothing--not even legends of Time Lords or the Doctor in memory.
There is also that moment in the Wedding of River Song when those millions of voices answered River's distress call for the Doctor? Who answered "yes of course" and who wondered: "Doctor Who?
Someone in another forum suggested the Doctor could have a more linear, but timey wimey relationship--similar to that of his with River- with his new companion, again meeting her on the day of her death, but perhaps meeting her before she takes her fatal voyage. Or Oswin is her Grandmother.
Love and loss; Amy speaks of what the Silence did to her, but doesn't mention River, so there may be some effort to deal with that.
Looking forward to next week and meeting Rory's father.
By the way if that was the Dalek Fleet does this mean Journey's End never happened or will never happen-or what branch of the Fleet was this?

This was my thought as well - they could easily be one and the same, in the same way that River = Mels = Melody. I googled the name "Oswin" and it is often a surname. "Clara Oswin," perhaps? Eleven never did see her face ....

This totally - TOTALLY - should have occurred to me. Maybe I'm just used to her not mentioning her/dealing with it at this point. IDEK lol.

I thought it was a different fleet this time around? Not sure. The universe has been rebooted a lot @.@

I'm looking forward to this being addressed! After last season I was a bit concerned that the storyline was over without anyone really dealing with it realistically.

Yeeaaaah hard to say at this point if it is likely to be dealt with - in the show, in one of the DVD-only scenes, or at all ... =X It would definitely be nice to see that come full circle.
I think what we saw of the Ponds in this episode combined with the teaser we got with Amy saying "sometimes the traveling feels like running away" or something along those lines tells us a bit more about how the Pond's departure is going to be. I think it's finally just going to be too much for them.
Lots of memory--Dalek puppets only remember when it's needed for a disguise, the guy who doesn't remember dying, Amy needs to remember, Oswin forgetting her conversion, and of course now the Daleks don't remember the Doctor. The conversation about kids makes me hope even more that Amy and Rory leave to raise Melody. The story isn't just what's on tv now, is it? Oswin's appearance gains so much when we know JLC is meant to show up at Christmas as the new companion.
