If they were supposedly in their thiries--this is ten years into their travels--and they died in New York in 1938 then they arrived in New York around 1888--in time for the blizzard. New York was and is filled with diverse culture, all sorts of activism, especially for women and minorities. Art that was exclusively, proudly American was blossoming. I don't think they were bored. I can see Amy right in the middle of the feminist movement, using whatever skills she learned as a writer, and Rory becoming involved with the growing of public health--perhpas even qualifying as a Doctor

I enjoyed the Pond Life episodes. I thought they provided interesting tidbits, and they were very good for whetting one's Doctor Who appetite while waiting for the new episode.
I think they were pretty happy. In the early days of their relationship, Amy and Rory had a lot of tension and insecurity. But, in the last few episodes, it seems like those melted away, and their love was true and steady. So, I think they did have a good life. Every marriage has ups and downs, but I think theirs is one with more positives than negatives.
