I think this is so cool. It's interesting how the reviewer in the article you linked in comments states that JDM doesn't exactly "fit" the daddy Wayne type. I think JDM would be an absolutely perfect daddy Wayne. He really is more than the blue collar type of actor. He can do sleek and sophisticated. I think his casting in this role would be just delicious. And YES, it does put quite the spin on Dean's "Batman" scene.

Eh. Fanboys still resent the fact that JD did such a kickass job in Watchmen. They lack vision when it comes to their fanboy crushes (Batman, Superman, Watchmen, etc). JD can play anything JD wants to play, and the best part of him potentially being Batman's dad? Sure explains where Batman's "scary voice" comes from, cause NOBODY does scary voice like JD doing his YED jam. :D
