JDM has been saying all along that he would do SPN again. It's the SON people that aren't offering him the scripts. At the Con in Vegas he said he would love to be back with the guys..I'm not getting excited until I see him with a SPN script in his hands.

Different tone now, to my ear. And he offered it rather than it having to be pried out of him. I think finding out Kripke's involvement with the show is in name only now made it much easier to be something he WANTS to do rather than something he'd be willing to do if asked.

Fingers crossed here, as long as the series keeps going, there's always a chance :)
(obviously, I wonder whether JDM might be too expensive for the show now, but I suppose/hope he wouldn't be too picky about it)

Don't think expense would be the issue. Sounds more like it would be a "Jen directs or I don't play" issue. Which given that Jen's directed more than once, that shouldn't be much of a sticking point.
