If there are a few that you just can't figure out, I could give it a shot. Not saying that I'll know what to do, but I've had some success with Ned's icons, plus I just love dicking around in photoshop!
I used curves on these, too. And I didn't hit "auto", but what I did do was use the little eyedroppers to the left of the curves grid. I used the bottom one (highlight) and highlighted the whitest part on her skin (not her teeth), and used the top one (shadow) to highlight the darkest part of the image (her hair). Idk if this is what you're looking for, but it's worth a shot to play with it if these aren't what you like ♥

I SAVED IT TO THE WRONG FOLDER, AND WHEN I WENT TO OPEN IT, IT WAS SITTING NEXT TO PRIEST RUI.
I laughed and laughed and laughed and had to close photoshop.

I can't even do Yuuto icons afterwards because I'm no longer able to tell what makes decent lighting.
On the other hand, I'm now familiar with most light tools in Photoshop.

For general reference, he's a curves tutorial that I did awhile back. I find it pretty helpful for live action stuff?
And as for these: 1, 2, 3, 4.
