[ooc] Family headcanon
Also known as "Mori thinks way too much".
Father
- Middle child out of three boys.
- Was the Only Sane Man out of the three, which is why his relationship with his brothers was strained at best.
- Migrated to America a few years before WW1.
- You have no idea how pissed off he was at Prohibition. HIS BEER GARDEN, SOB.
Mother
- Oldest child, has one younger sister who lives in Germany.
- Emigrated with the father.
- Despite looking kind of sweet and demure, probably epitomizes facepalm.
Gerald [Older brother]
- 20 years old.
- Has a cowlick.
- Also has an obvious ahoge that refuses to stay down no matter what he does.
- Used to be hot-blooded when he was younger, but has since cooled off.
- Likes to think he's good with women. Obviously, actually isn't; attempts to impress them have, for most of the part, failed to achieve the desired results.
- Was really irresponsible when he was younger; if possible, he sort of...just shirked responsibility. Nina picking up the slack was an unintended side effect, but since she never complained, he didn't see any point to actually trying until much later.
- The father's death actually played a big part in him cooling off -- he was suddenly acutely aware that he was the man of the family at that point, and he couldn't simply fool around with that sort of responsibility.
- Probably the most emotionally well-balanced out of all the children in this family.
Roger [Younger brother]
- 15 years old, sophomore at Adessi Hall.
- Hot-blooded, kind of bad-tempered, has something of a justice complex going on.
- He got into a lot of fights with other neighbourhood kids when he was younger.
- Related: He tries not to start fights in Adessi because Nina is there and she does not approve.
- When I said he had a justice complex, I meant it. He really cannot stand the idea of injustice and it makes his blood boil so much.
- Hates himself for said justice complex! He knows that ultimately it's just going to cause him more trouble than it's worth and it won't actually make a difference in the grand scheme of things, but at the same time he can't bring himself to stop.
- Kind of an ass even when he means well. He's terrible at expressing himself.
- Would never ever ever ever hit a girl. Ever.
- Resents the upperclass, which wasn't entirely uncommon during the time.
- I keep imaging him with Elliot from Pandora Hearts as his PB, partially because of his ridiculous hair, mostly for his hilarious angry faces.
Kay [Youngest brother]
- 11 years old.
- Smiles all the damn time. Seriously.
- Very simple-minded, might seem terribly stupid to other people.
- ...Actually kind of is, in a way, but at the same time he's surprisingly perceptive and deep about certain things.
- Likes sharp things. A lot. Even though he's very good at not hurting himself with said sharp objects, it's not exactly reassuring.
- Loves his family very, very much. I'm not kidding when I say he'd probably stab anyone who threatens the family, even at this age. While still smiling.
- He's kind of unsettling, in a cheerfully creepy child sort of way.
Friedrich "Fritz" [Uncle #1]
- Late 40s, which makes him the older uncle.
- Studied in Switzerland before leaving for America.
- Became rich through a combination of hard work and smart investments. He's rich enough that the Wall Street Crash didn't affect him too badly.
- Lives in Abaton City, but is a bit of a recluse.
- Eccentric beyond all reason! He's the sort of person who'd do things for the lulz, even if it's kind of terrible.
- IS A NINJA. He has this terrible habit of apparently appearing out of nowhere, or otherwise entering a room unnoticed (or in the case of his own mansion, through unexpected places). Likewise, he can follow people without them noticing he's behind them unless he makes himself known or they are paranoid.
- Has an interest in the occult and strange inventions.
- While he doesn't seem like it, he really knows how to put on a show -- people tend to get their strongest impression from what's readily apparent, and he likes being known as the weird rich uncle.
- That thick German accent of his is actually (mostly) fake, he speaks really good English at this point. The thickness of said accent fluctuates with his level of seriousness.
- He offered to pay for the education of his nephews and niece mostly to ease his guilt that he never fixed his relationship with their dad before he passed away.
